TIMELESS AND TREASURED - SUPPLIERS TO THE SHIPYARDS SINCE 1956

Very compact design, simple and elegant, smooth and gentle lines. The BCS hydraulic control is not only a wonderful synthesis between aesthetic principles and functionalism, but also a synonym of safety and reliability, thanks to some special technical solutions. Completely realised in anodised aluminium, our controls are very light but, at the same time, resistant to the outside attacks. They are therefore suitable for any environment, even the most sophisticated.

The hydraulic system, whose quality can be guaranteed by many years of experience and a great number of applications, allow to drive the boat in a delicate and precise way without any shaking or sudden stop, a characteristic that can hardly be found in a mechanical control.

The pictures and the schemes below offer the opportunity to see the elegance of their design and make the working principle of the system clearer.

The basic composition of each hydraulic control is the following:

  • Control lever (1)
  • Gear actuator (2)
  • Throttle actuator (3)
  • Distributor (4)
  • Pressurised tank (5)
  • Mounting kit

The control lever (1) is the visible part of the system. It is completely realised in anodised aluminium and contains the transmission mechanism.
The red lever is for the throttle, while the black one is for the gear. The number of levers is of course doubled or trebled accordingly to the number of the control stations.

By acting on the control lever, the movement is directly transmitted to the gear actuator (2) or the throttle actuator (3), resulting into an immediate and direct manoeuvre.

The first cylinder has the function of putting the gear in the requested position; so it's necessary to install one cylinder for each gear. The second one is connected to a non-return valve which, independently of the vibrations or other external causes, keeps the control lever in a steady position. It's necessary to install one actuator for each injection pump. Both actuators are placed near the motor.

The distributor (4) has the double function of sending the hydraulic fluid to the different components and hoses during the system setting-up, as well as absorbing the possible pressure variations due to temperature modifications. The distributor is supplied with expansion valves and shall be installed on each motor.

For each motor it's necessary to install an expansion tank, too (5). It's pressurised by means of compressed air in order to make the air bleeding easier and compensate for the volume variations resulting from possible temperature modifications.

The mounting kit includes all the hoses and fittings that are requested to fix and connect the different components. The hydraulic fluid running through the systems hosing is a special mixture of ethylenic glycol and distilled water, which has a low viscosity and thermal expansion coefficient.

The BCS hydraulic controls are particularly reliable and don't need particular service works. The system is also supplied with a synchronisation device which makes the levers stay in the same position in case there are different control stations.
